Been thinking of trying something a bit bigger so went for this from Iron Maiden that a mate wanted

Half way through you can see the detail is really good and the support structure used to stop the overhangs falling

And the finished head with the support broken off.

One of the things was this 3D printed lithograph that you could customise with your own pictures. This one came out particularly well I think. 🙂

You can even make out the curtains and the pattern on her pillow.

Now the printer is up and running I have a roll of glow in the dark filament but it still has a problem spooling out so I after looking around the office to see what I had this is what I came up with.

You will need :-

CBT training kit box
Year planner tube or similar which is tight fit in reel.
Filament reel
Self explanatory really. The friction between the box and the tube is an effective way of stopping the reel over feeding.

The reel and the mandrel fit inside the box once disassembled.
